Interview with Mr. Branata (Rumah Zakat head supervisor)
Q1: How did your organization start?
A: We started from discussing with our team to build this organization, we collected funds for this organization from the population and we named this organization Rumah Zakat for refugees and poor people.
Q2: How many refugees do you have at this moment and where are they from?
A: We don’t know but we know they are from Syria, Afghanistan and many more.
Q3: What inspired you to help refugee?
A: The refugees are banned from their country because of war, natural disasters and many more. They need help, so we joined this organization to help them.
Q4: Can you describe how they spend their day?
A: They are trying to live a normal life, but they are still having trauma about their families, houses, war and other things. We are saving their lives in Indonesia.
Q5: Do you think Indonesia welcomes refugees? Can you explain?
A: Refugees are welcomed here, but they do not go to Indonesia. Their target is to go to Europe, US, and other national countries. Refugees came to Indonesia because they are rejected by the countries they are targeting.
Q6: What are the long term support that you are giving them?
A: The refugees have to stay in a facility until they are granted as an Indonesian to get shelter, food, water, a job, and other things.

A: We get our budget from other organizations around the world.

Interview with Mr. Muhammad Reza Qambari (caretaker of refugees)
Q1: How did your organization start?
A: It started in 1952, the place is Jalan Kebun Sirih Office. This is an organization for those who had fled their country because of war.
Q2: How many refugees do you have at the moment and where are they from?
A: We have 14 000 here in Indonesia, but living with us are seven people. They are from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Somalia
Q3: What inspired you to help refugees?
A: I love to help people because I know the condition of being homeless. So I love to help people especially those who are homeless.
Q4: Can you explain how the refugees spend their days?
A: They have skills, one of them is a barber and one of them is a chef. The others are also doing something everyday, like daily activities.
Q5: Do you think Indonesia welcomes refugees?
A: Yes, Indonesia always welcomes refugees, and I think from the very first day they are also helping us.
Q6: What long term support can you give them?
A: We are helped by this hotel and their friends, we get daily food or something else. We help others also, the homeless people, they don't have anything so we give them clothes and food.
Q7: Where do you get your budget to support them?
A: We have weekly budget, 2% from America, they give us rice, vegetables, and oil to cook.
