Week 1
We had a session on academic honesty with Ms. Jun. We learnt what sources we should use for our PYP Exhibition. We have to cite our sources to show honesty. The grade 6 students shared with us their experience when they were doing the PYP Exhibition. They talked about their struggles in the PYP Exhibition, including group problems and challenges with the blog. We showed respect when they were presenting by listening to them. We tried not to think about the negative things about the PYP Exhibition, or else it will be stressful. Our group sometimes struggle with the work.

Week 2
We had a session with other grade 6, and they talked about making a blog. They gave examples of things we should do to make our blog perfect. We also had a session with Mr. Michael who told us all about refugees. He talked about what it takes to be a refugee so that nobody is faking and why their country is actually dangerous to live in. We learnt that refugees are all around our country, living apart from their families. Being a refugee is hard. We feel bad for the refugees because they have to be separated from their families to find ways to be safe. We showed respect, and we were also inquirers because some of us asked questions during the presentation. |
Week 3
We had a session with Ms. Richel on how we could make our central idea and lines of inquiry. She helped us alot in making them because it was so hard. Finally, we finished it. Ms. Richel was really good at helping us. We struggled in making the central idea and the lines of inquiry. It took two sessions to make them because others wouldn't help other groups. We were open-minded because we listened to others opinions or suggestions. We were also inquirers when we asked a lot of questions on things we didn't understand. Week 5
In week 5, we interviewed Mr. Reza in UNCHR. He was very kind and can speak many languages for refugees around the world. We interviewed him, and we started to understand more about their work. We learned that refugees actually help other poor and homeless people. That's amazing! Our IB learner profile is inquirer because we asked questions. We demonstrated the PYP attitudes appreciation because we appreciate the people who worked so hard to teach, take care and cooperate with the refugees. |
Week 4
This week we started doing our blog on weebly. We wrote our third reflection on the blog, and we also put our central idea. We interviewed Latascha's dad. He told us how many refugees came to Indonesia during the 1970s. We showed cooperation because we worked together in making the blog. We continued our blog in Latascha's house. We also thought of making a movie. The mentors came and helped us with our blog. The mentors who came were Ms. Lea, Ms. Maricar, Ms Ratu and Ms. Corita. Week 6
In week 6, we went to Tunas Muda school to see their grade 6 students' PYP exhibition. We showed respect to them by listening carefully and asking questions in their booths. The students presented well, and they put a lot of information. We wrote down what they presented in their booths so we can memorize it. Their topic was very interesting, and they made it more interesting by adding more information. Our learner profile is inquirer because we listened to them. Our PYP attitude is respect because we showed respect to them. |
Week 8
On Monday, refugees came to our school and explained about what they do as refugees. We played with them and made new friends from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Somalia. They had skills. Soon after the refugees, We also had Bizzarro’s dad who talked about terrorism. During that we showed respect by listening quietly while he was talking. On Tuesday, Celine went to Bali, and the rest of us went to Singapore. During the Singapore trip, we went to NEWater, Buddhist and Hindu Temple, River Safari, etc. In Bali we went to Green Camp, the Devdan Show, the silver factory, coffee factory, Mepantigan mud wrestling etc. We had a lot of fun during our immersion. We showed respect by listening to our teachers and doing what they told us to do. We also showed we were inquirers by asking questions. Week 11
We wrote and put our research on our blog. We also realized that we didn’t paraphrase our research, so we fixed it on the blog and published it. We also finished our Powtoon which is for the presentation. We completed our survey and showed our results through a graph. We all worked hard for this blog. We finally reached our goal. The attributes of the learner profile that we demonstrated were communicator, knowledgeable and caring. We showed we were communicators by sharing our ideas. We showed we were knowledgeable by searching all of the things for our PYP exhibition. We showed we were caring by dividing our tasks equally so nobody gets stressed. The PYP attitudes we demonstrated were cooperation, caring and creativity. We showed cooperation by cooperating with our group mates. We showed we were caring by being kind to each other. We showed creativity by making our blog and presentation fun, beautiful and colorful. Week 13
We have finalized our blog and Powtoon for our PYP Exhibition. We just need to practice our roles more so that we can be more confident in our work. Our PYP Exhibition is going to be next week. Our action is going great because some teachers helped by donating to us, and Dava's mum helped us by telling her neighbours to donate. |
Week 9
On week 9, we went to Latascha's house again to work on the powtoon. We also went to Global Jaya School to see the grade 6 PYP exhibition. The students presented really well and their performance was outstanding. The information they gave are clear and gave us more ideas how to do our exhibition. Week 10
We all did our PYP exhibition. We started using Powtoon for our presentation. We did our research on the third lines of inquiry- impacts of free movement, protection and nationality. On Friday , we all researched on our first and second lines of inquiry, and we gave out questionnaires to grade 4. Most of their answers were "yes". Probably they knew from their teacher, parents or the world. Our learner profiles are inquirer and thinker. Our PYP Attitudes are curiosity and creativity. Also next week, we are having a term break , so we all will relax , have fun and go to places. Week 12
On Week 12, we had a rehearsal on the 8th floor. Keshia is going to sing, Dava is going to sing and act, Celine is going to dance and Latascha is going to play the violin. We practiced our song we are going to perform called " Mad World" and our finale song called " What's Going On?". We also went to Keshia's house to take our picture on the " About" page, continue on our blog and practice our Powtoon presentation. We tried to memorize our parts, and while we were practicing on our Powtoon presentation, we tried to pretend that it is the PYP Exhibition day, so Celine and Dava can focus. For IB learner profile, we showed that we are principled when we worked without the teachers in Keshia's house and we were honest to the teachers. For PYP attitudes, we showed respect when we listened to the teacher mentors and the parent mentors. Our goal for next week is try to finish our blog and start practicing our presentation. |
